Located on Barton Road in Lower Gravenhurst, the Parish Council Cemetery was created in XXXX and is adjacent to the closed church and churchyard of St. Mary’s. The Cemetery is open for burials and interments and benches are provded so that visitors can sit and reflect, taking in the view across the countryside.
The Cemetery is small and very important to Gravenhurst residents and families, and for this reason the Parish Council does not permit pre-purchase of plots. When the time comes to purchase an exclusive right of burial this is granted for up to 75 years.
Gravenhurst Parish Council maintains corporate membership of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM). We use this membership to gain expert support, legal guidance, and accredited training for cemetery management and memorial safety.
